What inspired you to start bookbinding?
I’ve always been an avid reader, but I discovered bookbinding in early 2023. It quickly became a way for me to combine my love of books with a creative, hands-on craft.

What types of books do you enjoy working on?
I especially enjoy reformatting and editing classic novels from the public domain, transforming them into unique, hand-bound editions. It’s a way for me to connect with these timeless stories in a creative and personal way. I also love working on journals, designing them to be functional, beautiful, and inspiring spaces for writing, sketching, or organizing ideas.

Do you work with illustrated books?
Yes, I enjoy working on illustrated books, but they require extra time and care. I often have to search for original images, which are found in photographs of yellowed or damaged pages from the original editions. Once I locate the images, I clean and restore them to ensure they look their best in the finished book. It’s a meticulous process, but it’s rewarding to bring these illustrations back to life.

What do you enjoy most about bookbinding?
For me, it’s the combination of creativity and precision. I love transforming classic literature into something tangible and unique, and I enjoy the challenge of learning and experimenting with different techniques.
